Beautifully Uncomfortable

Uncategorized

2 Dec

As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

Deuteronomy 32:11

I have a simple thought to share with you. I walked around the grocery store this evening and these two words beautifully uncomfortable just kept playing on repeat in my heart. This is the last month of this year. It is actually the last month of this decade. I hope I can articulate the overwhelming feeling I had this evening.

I know so many people who have been stuck for a long time. They have hit barriers in their financial situations. They have been believing God for things to change in their relationships or even in their walk with God. Some have these enormous dreams and desires that never seem to happen for them. If you are on my mind, I believe that you need to know you are on God’s mind as well. He has not forgotten about you, or even me. There is more in us and more for us. It is my prayer that this month becomes beautifully uncomfortable for all of us.

  • Uncomfortable in ways that make us passionate about addressing any unfinished business in our lives.
  • Uncomfortable if we are complacent in our relationships, especially with our relationship with God.
  • Uncomfortable if we have stopped believing that our lives as they are now are as good as they will get.
  • Uncomfortable if we have grown weak in our faith about those desires of our hearts.
  • Uncomfortable until we begin to dream bigger dreams.

Stir Us

Just like the eagle stirs her nest, I am praying that God would stir our hearts and our lives. Makes us beautifully uncomfortable until we take action. I believe in this thing that I call “good agitation.” Sometimes you have to get just the right amount of sick of something, tired of a situation, and agitated enough to do something about it. I am not talking about reckless moves. I mean be bold enough in your faith to do something towards changing the course of your life. I don’t know what that means to you, but you do.

You might need to start confessing, this is the last month this will be this way. This is the last year that my life will be in this place. By this time next year my life is going to be drastically different.

Become More

I heard a really wise woman of God say that if you want more in your life, that you have to become more. That says to me that there is some growth responsibility on our part to be able to handle more.  There are things we can do to grow.  Saturate your life with the Word of God. There is life in it. Faith comes by hearing the Word, but also by reading it. See this visual, as you read faith is knocking on your door delivering growth to your life. As you keep hearing and reading, faith keeps coming.

Beautifully Uncomfortable

I hope you out grow where you are and what has been normal to you. I pray that your hopes, desires, and dreams start to swell in your soul. I pray that your love and passion for God’s purpose in your life will make you chase down His presence. I pray that as you attach your faith to these two words…BEAUTIFULLY UNCOMFORTABLE that you walk into a season of expansive growth. That you become bigger from the inside out.
