Have you ever asked yourself if this is all there is? Will my life get any better than this? Have I accomplished all that I will ever do? Are my best days behind me?
Sometimes we stop dreaming or hoping for anything better because life has really disappointed us. Maybe we used to dream, but when you have invested emotional energy and even faith into something and it doesn’t work out, we can protect our hearts by stopping all of that stuff. We can find ourselves slipping into the mindset that I can better control my own disappointments by not hoping too much or not at all. That’s not living, that is existing.
Trust in God’s Plan
God has a beautiful and unique plan for each of us. Jeremiah 29:11 says that His plans for us are to prosper us and to give us hope. So anything that prospers increases, or gets better. It doesn’t diminish or get worse. Just because we have had let downs or disappointments does not mean we didn’t grow in wisdom or knowledge.
I believe these things:
- God has a great plan for my life.
- That plan is always working.
- I am part of that plan.
- That plan is ever unfolding.
I am here to challenge you to begin to dream with God. What does your best and most amazing life look like? What are the things that you desire to accomplish or experience in life? If faith is the currency of the Kingdom of God, what if we spent some of our own faith on ourselves? I am a visual person, and I believe in the idea that what we put in front of our eyes we have a greater chance of accomplishing. Write your dreams and desires down!
Review Your Past Victories
While we are having a supernatural experience, some of our day to day victories in life have been very tangible. When we begin to review or bring to mind some of the things that God has done before, doors He has opened, or even prayers He has answered we build our own faith about the MORE that still lies ahead.
I often rehearse in my mind how God had a plan when I was looking to move to Las Vegas. I was going to be leaving a job that I had been on for several years. It was a great stable job. I needed a door to be opened. I only applied for two jobs before moving here. One was the exact same job title I was doing in California. I didn’t get that job, it wasn’t my door. I applied and tested for a second job. It was in the same field of work. I recall walking into the test and there were at least one hundred people in there. I remember feeling overwhelmed. I whispered to God, it will take a miracle for me to get the job. It was my door, and I got the job.
It wasn’t until after I had already been working there, that I found out just how amazing it was that I got the job. There were only two openings, and the lady that got the other one told me that she was already working there as a temp and that it was filled internally. I got the only vacancy that was open to the public. It wasn’t that I was so smart, or special. It was that God had more for my life. He had a next chapter and a purpose for my life in this city. He indeed gave me a small miracle but more so that victory then, and still to this day encourages my own faith. It lets me know that what God has done in the past He can do again.
I speak faith to you. God does have more for your life. More in you, and more for you to accomplish and experience.
