Fighting “Stuck”

Uncategorized

29 Apr

Life can make you feel stuck sometimes. It’s 2:22 am, and I am frustrated. I spent some time working towards a goal, anticipating a good outcome. It is something that will bless other people as well. I put action with my faith just for it to be a disappointment, at least for now. While I am frustrated, I am not giving up.

Fighting Stuck

In this early morning quiet time, I am intensely aware of how many people right now in the middle of this world pandemic are fighting that feeling of being stuck as well. People are facing it in a variety of ways. Stuck in the unemployment gridlock, or stuck in the house with people that may be wearing their patience, stuck in failing relationships, or stuck in this distancing situation and feeling alone or even depressed.

Other people have been dealing with this feeling of being trapped long before this virus interrupted everything. Maybe your life has presented seemingly impossible barriers to advance or progress. Perhaps it’s in your career or in your health, but you feel like there’s no change in sight.

Today I am reminding all of us that God is bigger than any barrier or setbacks. If you have been fighting stuck, keep fighting. Refuse to accept some false narrative that these current situations are final. They are not. God always has the final say.

Unrest is a Good Thing

I wholeheartedly believe when you feel that lack of peace or internal unrest about a situation it is so that you don’t get comfortable there. It is to remind you that this isn’t good enough, and there is better for you and for your life.

Trust God’s Timing

I believe in the timing of God. I often say that God invented the term “calm down“ just for me. I am guilty of wanting Him to get riled up about what’s upsetting me, or hurry up with fixing my situations.

His ways are not our ways, but His timing is precise. So what are we to do? I think we earnestly contend for our faith, families, our plans, and those matters we have been praying about. We speak to the barriers and tell them that we are not going to be defined by them.

We are not stuck, we are in progress.

I challenge you to reach out to someone who you can trust and share with them the areas of your life where you are feeling stuck. Fight that in prayer together. Two are better than one. We will get through things together. God will supply every need in every area of our lives.

  • Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
  • Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
  • Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
  • Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
